Draymond Green suspended

Draymond Green, a player for the Golden State Warriors, has been suspended by the NBA for five games after grabbing Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves around the neck in a dangerous and unsportsmanlike manner. The incident occurred during a game between the two teams on Tuesday. Gobert, Jaden McDaniels of the Timberwolves, and Klay Thompson of the Warriors were also penalized and fined $25,000 each. However, Green's suspension is the most severe, costing him $769,704 in forfeited salary. The NBA cited Green's history of unsportsmanlike behavior as a factor in determining the length of the suspension. The penalties were announced by Joe Dumars, the NBA's Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations, who has been a mentor to Green. The incident began with Thompson and McDaniels grabbing and pulling at each other's jerseys before escalating when Gobert intervened and put his arms around Thompson.
