Unexpected twist: Davao City, anticipating rain, hit by Intensity 4 earthquake


Davao City, anticipating rain showers and thunderstorms, took precautionary measures by suspending classes and implementing a work-from-home arrangement. However, instead of rain, the city was hit by a magnitude 6.8 earthquake. The quake's epicenter was located in Sarangani Island, Davao Occidental. Various areas experienced different intensities of shaking, with some reporting damaged ceilings and walls. Despite videos circulating online, there were no reported injuries or casualties. The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office is continuously monitoring the situation.
